We believe God created us with unique intellectual, physical, social, emotional and spiritual capacities. With this holistic view in mind, Grace Treehouse’s curriculum is developed to discover and nurture the abilities of the whole child.  We seek to plant seeds for the love of God and for the love of learning about all that He has created. Students will delve into God’s Word while growing in their knowledge of multi-academic subjects through a myriad of sensorial learning experiences (visual, auditory, tactics, and kinesthetic).

Vertical
Grouping

Montessori Education

In our classrooms, students will be grouped together, ranging from 3 to 6 years old. This intentional mix offers numerous benefits, fostering a dynamic and enriching learning environment:

  • Peer Learning: Older students can serve as mentors, supporting younger peers in their learning journey.

  • Social Development: Mixed-age groups encourage a sense of community, cooperation, and understanding among students of different ages.

  • Flexibility: Students can progress at their own pace, with the curriculum designed to cater to individual needs and abilities.

  • Leadership Skills: Older students often develop leadership skills by guiding and assisting younger classmates.

  • Continuous Learning: Students have the opportunity to observe and engage with a broader range of academic concepts, enhancing their overall understanding.

  • Long-Term Relationships: Building lasting connections with peers of various ages contributes to a supportive and inclusive school community.

  • We believe this mixed age group setting aligns with the principles of Montessori education, promoting holistic development and creating a vibrant learning environment for each child.

The five core components of Montessori education:

  • Montessori materials

Hands-on, sensory-based materials that promote independent learning and critical thinking

  • Prepared environment

A classroom that considers structure, order, freedom, beauty, nature, and social and intellectual environments

  • Child-directed work

An approach that allows children to experience freedom with limits, and to cultivate knowledge through their own experiences

  • Multiage classrooms (Vertical Grouping)

Classrooms where children of different ages learn together, which encourages peer learning, leadership, and social development

  • Properly trained Montessori teachers

Teachers who are trained to understand the needs of children and support their natural developmental path
